I emailed my lawyer too, A**hole is just repeating that he needs Her Legal name in USA. All her Tax filings, Licence, Social security etc have <First Name>, <Last Name> format. Passport doesn't have surname and Visa has First name - FNU and Surname - Firstname last name. Don't know what to do.

I just saw this post and I would like to understand a bit more about what you read. So, I have two questions for you:
1. What is your EB category?
2. What exactly did the memo say? Now be careful and think hard before you post.
For instance, you may cover the following in your post:
- Who was it addressed to?
- What was the subject?
- Was it about about EB or FB?
- Did it mention any dates?
- Did it mention any country names?
- Was there anything about what the adjudicators are supposed to do?
- Which city/state was this?
Your response will be very helpful.

I believe we should indicate our thanks to IV in terms of funding as well.

Currently NSC processing time for employment based 485 is 15th Sept. 2007... My notice date is 18th Sept. 2007 (based on case status shown on USCIS site)
Looks like I am going to miss my GC by 3 days and wait till next year :mad: I highly doubt that dates will stay at 2005 during next month bulletin.. (I truly hope I am wrong!)

No doubt this is a great idea and also as newbie2020 suggests no point of wasting time and loosing the current tempo and massive support of IV members on this regard.
Would like to request all, is it possible to change the bridge schedule a bit to 9.00 or 9.30 PM EST so that it would be easier to participate for people who are in Pacific Time Zone? If most people have difficulty in doing that, lets move forward with the current schedule.

Our forefathers travelled to the promised land in ships that were full of rats, without food or water. Several of them died while trying to reach here.
Once here on the promised land, we had to fight our way to create a free society that you are dying to be part of. America is land of entrepreneurs.
And any one that don't have an entrepreneurial spirit is not welcomed here.
What do you have to bring to the table?
So are we putting up with all the biased folks like you. We go to work everyday and earn our pay. We are not a burden to US. We contribute to the economy. We start about 25% of the companies. I can go on and on.

Here is the problem
-- Grass root & state level efforts work only when there are a lot of grass root workers. For example independence struggle in india worked due to grass root efforts. But please try to understand that things are different here --- by definition, we are immigrants, our numbers are limited in this country.
Simply put, groups working in isolated corners of the country are having no effect on the politicians, because each area has only a few people and the politicians are not seeing the combined effect.
"Grass root efforts" may sound very trendy, but are actually leading us no where............yes we need it......but at the same time IV has to have a strong leadership who can show their strenght by doing phone / lettere campaigns.
Well - I agree. What you say is true. In the past - IV leadership came up with campaigns and with plan and then the heat picked up and members started contributing and working hard and thats how all these campaigns are a success to some extent.
Now when new members are trying to come up with something - I personally feel that IV leadership must either endorse and support and guide or if such new campaigns that are not coming directly from IV core may not be advisable because they may not be the best approach - I think IV core can communicate the concern and intent to not ssupport new campaigns.
If there is no response - it becomes difficult for people to do anything because most people spring into action ONLY when IV core endorses the effort otherwise members will start campaigns - get no support or very little support and the campaigns will just go wasted.
On another note - it is always the best to join State chapters and talk to chapter leads and also mobilize people in state chaapter level - itis not easy but works in long run

Thank you to all members here and core members. I have been watching this thread since June 30. I can't believe this is actually happening.
I was the one who DID NOT send any flowers because I was simply scared.
I was the one who DID NOT contribute any donation to IV.
I was the one who wouldn't do rally, simply I did not think it's gonna work.
Now, I am very happy. At the same time, I shame myself.
Once again, I bow to all members who actually did something & contributed something to this community and entire legal immigrants. I will remember this day even when I get a citizenship in the future.
Finally, I like to make a donation to this community. However, let me finish my I-485 filing NOW! lol gotta send this to my laywer tomorrow morning...

I applied for passport renewal (Chicago consulate) without name change form. In the Online application, I splitted the name as needed (earlier my name was under Given name). The renewal passport was sent to me with the way I entered the name (splitting) without any additional forms or affidavits.
