Let me add my observations here:
For people who doubt where all the money is going, remember Aman founded this organization putting his own money into this ( not in hundreds but thousands). He and some other core members has already got their green cards, but they continue to work for this cause. I also remember Aman and core members saying this "It is not about you. It is about the community. You just don't think about yourself, you work for everyone." Most of the talk points for meetings were meant for relief to the entire community, not a specific group.
For me, I had to go for a meeting alone. Initially I was disappointed, but I could handle that meeting very well, thanks to IVs training session. For those who are apprehensive about attending these meetings -- It is pretty straightforward if we follow IVs talking points and presentation style. We cover ourselves well with arguments and counter arguments during training session.
As for meeting lawmakers, it will always be a pleasant experience. This is the greatest democracy on the face of the earth. Lawmakers will lend a patient, listening ears to your issues. No worries there. Also fixes to our issues will benefit not only us, it will help this country in the long run. If you haven't met your lawmaker yet, please plan meeting them and let them know your pains. A meeting from a constituent is very valuable for these lawmakers.
A request to IV core:
It is better if IV could conduct the training in different state chapters, so that people will feel more confident and less apprehensive in meeting their lawmakers.

3. Drove without a license.
4. Had unpaid driving fines. (Bet she didnt have driving insurance either).
1. documented / undocumented is a matter of immigration status..... no human can be illegal..... an activity can be illegal which makes a person undocumented...... as defined by human law...... but above human law there is another law..... which is defined by an entity more or less we all believe in..... how can a new born child.... a creation of the creator be illegal? delivery of a child is not just a matter of mother.... its a matter of another life being brought into this world..... how can that child be illegal?
2. even felons are not shackled to bed.... unless someone is danger to others..... how can a pregnant woman just about to deliver a child be danger to anyone else.....
3. i lost my wallet few days back.... anyone could lose their wallet sometime or the other ..... it happens..... and during that time we are all driving with a license..... does it mean we all must be shackled to bed when delivering a child......

I like your idea of the poster. I sent letters and cards so far, but didnt get this idea that catches quick attention more easily. I support you.
I will be doing some posters myself, one of them will be a scene of not buying a 300K house, just because USCIS is not clearing my case. I am really one of them, and I know there are many many more who pay roughly $1500/month on rents, but are just waiting for this mess to be cleared to be sure, before taking such a step. Show it such that the economy also benefits in our posters. Not just what they can do for us, but also what we can, in case they help us.

I have one message from Pappu that they have some updates on this. I don't know any details so far. Hopefully we will get some account information soon! If not, we will see how to create a pool account for this and then submit to IV. One thing is for sure, I don't think we can not afford loosing this golden opportunity. I don't want to loose this to bureaucracy.

Hi,
My daughter does not have last name in her passport. So, her visa has first name as "FNU" and last name as real name. She is 2 years old.
what sort of problems can come in way if she will have one name i.e. First Name? Is it very complicated process to add Last Name in her passport? If I add last name then do I need to re-apply her visa?
Please guide me.

pappu, pls let me know, if u received the fund. Also, one small suggestion, we can just maintain a small excel sheet, to just see who (just the user id and not the actual name) contributed and how much money they contributed just in this campaign. Cos, I hate to say this, I just dont want to be around those who want to have a free ride from all the hard work that IV group is putting in. Please everyone please donate. If you are reading this post, if you have not contributed earlier, please contribute. Dont you want IV to become strong financially when fighting this tough case. They need all the help they can get. Even though $100 was not a minimum, I think that there was a psychological barrier of having it as the first visible option on the contribution page that was deterring a lot of users (including yours truly).

Sorry but do not want to be a damper... But this thread does not give me the right feeling. I have been a member of IV i think from dec 2005 and contributed quite a few hundered dollars and just like this organization as a simplistic, good non-profit orgnization with good intentions....
But in this thread we see a taunt... which is more like we will not have numbers in DC and then some triades...
So far whenever such type of hate comments are posted, I have noticed that the IV core/ Super moderators either close the threads or blacklist the user....
But in this case we see periodically (i think a couple of times) that super moderators are only making comments that we need to prove numbers so join the rally....
Sorry to say this but i feel either this stage managed ( the triades) or super moderators/ IV core are taking advantage of this thread.... Both I feel are inappropriate....
If I am wrong in what i have stated - My apologies to Supermoderators / IV Core.... But If I am right then I think personally it is a sad day since it lowered the image of IV in front of a great admirer.

I think I know a few with PD < 2002 still waiting....Its hard to give up when you have waited so long....
Of course there are many, may be thousands who are waiting since 2002 or earlier. But the logic I gave was that these guys must have already filed their their AOS petitions in the interim years.
My point was that, there is no way so many ancient labors (pre 2001) can get cleared last month and cause depletion of visa numbers. There is only one explanation. These labors were pre-approved.
Of course there are many, may be thousands who are waiting since 2002 or earlier. But the logic I gave was that these guys must have already filed their their AOS petitions in the interim years.

What does it mean that EB2 numbers became unavailable as of Aug 21st? !!!!!
The Sept Visa bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4328.html) states that India EB2 cutoff date is 01 Aug 06 !!
If the visa numbers are indeed exhausted, then, the Sept Visa bulletin will be INCORRECT ! and the USCIS/DOS has to redact the Sept bulletin !!! Sounds like another fiasco brewing to me ! Call it EB2-I Fiasco ! You heard it first here. :)
